Cassidy and Statton's 6th Birthday Party

The kids have been begging me to throw them a Birthday Party and let them invite their friends from school. I was wondering how I was suppose to do two different parties and handle that many kids. Statton wanted a Ninja Turtle Party so I told him he could invite only the boys from his class. Cassidy wanted a Frozen Party and so I told her she could only invite the girls from her class. I figured that would help keep numbers manageable. Once all the kids made it we had pizza and then let the kids open presents.

Harley, Taylor, Cassidy, Lily, and Peyton.

Orion, Teancum, Statton, Carson, and Jaden

The girls had to save Arendelle from the frozen snowballs. I set up one of their princess castles and put cotton balls all over it and around it and the girls had to scoop them up with spoons and walk them with their teeth and throw the snowballs over the cliff. (box)

I set up a Ninja Turtle obstacle course (string) that each boy had to weave their way through to earn their Turtle shells at the end. (Spray painted tray plates)
Then each boy got to decorate his turtle shell with ninja turtle stickers and then we attached them with string and gave them their ninja turtle mask.

While the boys were working on their turtle shells the girls got to decorate their own princess crowns.

Then all the kids just had fun playing with each other and playing Ninja turtles.
We then sang Happy Birthday to Statton and had his turtle cake and ice-cream.
Cute shot of all the Ninja Turtles
I missed getting a picture with Cassidy and her Frozen cake.
Overall I think the kids had a fun time and enjoyed their birthday's with their friends.

Madison's Broken Arm

Well Blair and I had just gotten back from Hawaii and picked up the kids and made it back to Wyoming. Well the next night Madison had gone in her room to get her pajamas and we heard a thud and then crying from her. She comes running into the kitchen and cries that she fell off the ladder from their new bunkbed they had just gotten a month ago. She had a bruise on her knee and was holding her right arm a bit and crying but after a while she settled down so we thought she was fine. After putting her to bed that night she woke up an hour later just crying and holding her right wrist. We put her in bed with us and debated on whether or not an E.R. visit was needed. I decided to wait until morning and see how she does. She finally settled down and went to sleep and then woke up and wanted to go back to her own bed. The next day she was holding her right wrist a lot and I noticed she wouldn't use it at all and when I tried pushing on it a little she would pull away and say ouch. I finally called the doctors office and got her in within a few hours. The doctor had us go and get an x-ray and sure enough she had suffered a buckle fracture to her right wrist. So the doctor put her arm in a splint for a few days and then we went back and had it casted.

I believe these pictures were taken that night after she had gotten the cast put on. She chose a purple cast and was pretty excited to show people. She had to wear it for 4 weeks.

Funny story about her cast. About a week after getting it on it was Super-bowl weekend and we had a co-worker of Blair's over and his family. Well, while eating some snacks and visiting, Madison jumped down from the table and started running to the bathroom but didn't quite make it and puked all over the floor, herself, and her cast! I was thinking "Really, you have 3 more weeks with this on and now it's really going to stink, how do you get puke out of a cast!" I took a wet wash cloth with some soap and wiped it off the best I could but it still stunk terribly. I read that you could take some baking soda and a toothbrush and scrub it on the cast to help the smell. So I tried that and after getting done Blair pointed out that I had accidently grabbed the baking powder instead. Ugh! Well either way it still stunk but after a few days the smell went away.
Well here we are finally getting her cast off on February 21.

She was so brave and didn't even flinch when the doctor was sawing thru her cast.
She was pretty excited to see her arm again and went home that day and was using her arm and hand like nothing had happened.

Hawaii Trip for Two!

Well Blair missed out on our family trip to Hawaii last May so we used his ticket voucher and bought me a ticket and him and I were able to take a week long Hawaiin get away with just the two of us. We were gone from January 12-18. We had a lot of fun with just the two of us and got to do a lot of things we wouldn't have done with the kids.
We took a self-guided tour of the submarine on Pearl Harbor and also the tour of the Battleship Missourri.

We had a fun day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Blair was a little tired of all the dancing by the time it came to the night show which consisted of more dancing.

At the Tahitian Village they had the men get up and do a dance.

At our Luau dinner we ended up sitting by another couple that was from Boise, ID and actually attended church with my cousin Evan. They were celebrating their 10th anniversary and we were making up for all our missed anniversaries. We had a fun time visiting and they were sweet enough to snap some pictures of us together. We also took some of them. They said the hardest thing about vacationing as a couple is all your pictures are of each of you separate and hardly any together.

I can't remember what beach this was but we had gone to do some paddle boarding but we never could find the board shop so we finally gave up and enjoyed the sun and sand. Blair decided playing at the beach just wasn't as much fun without the kids.

We had fun hiking Diamond Head the next day and then hitting Hanauma Bay for some snorkeling.

 Beautiful Views!

Hanauma Bay was full so we went down the road to another beach and hung our for a few hours and then went back to the bay for some snorkeling.
We tried doing some body boarding but the shale rocks would wash up on you so hard it cut up our feet and legs so I decided to lay out and get a tan and a nap. I'm on vacation!

Snorkeling was I think by far Blair's favorite activity of the trip. We had fun hitting some more beaches, eating delicious food, saw some movies, and just enjoyed walking the beach walk at night and enjoying the atmosphere and weather. It was a laid back fun trip and glad we had a chance to get away with just the two of us.
