Statton's Soccer Camp

July 22-26 I signed Statton up to play in the Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp. They have guys from England come over and put on these soccer camps all over Wyoming and Colorado. You got a weeks worth of instruction and a camp shirt and a soccer ball. Statton absolutely loved soccer. They don't have much for sports for little kids until they are about six. So this was way fun for Statton to do. He had been wanting to do a sport all summer so I was glad when I came across this. He enjoyed going everyday and looked forward to it.
These were just a few shots I took one of the days after camp.

This was the last day of the camp. The kids got to dress up in whatever they wanted and Statton wanted to wear his pirate costume.

Here Statton is with Coach Matt. He's the one who instructed the younger kids all week. They were so fun to talk to with the british accents and everything. I believe Matt said he was from Manchester.
They gave each one of the boys a poster with a soccer player on it and on the other side the coaches had written things about each player. This is what Coach Matt said about Statton.
"Statton it has been a pleasure to be your coach this week you have impressed me with your soccer skills, but your attitude and commitment this week has also been excellent. I have seen huge improvements in your control, dribbling, and passing. Continue to train as hard as you have this week Hope to see you next year!"

Statton tries to knock out front teeth.

I believe this was the first weekend after officially moving in to our new house. It was Saturday and we were cleaning and putting things away. Well the kids found the box of old haloween costumes and were dressing up. Well Statton found his Spiderman costume and had just got it on and went running out the back of his bedroom down the ramp that leads into the sunroom. Well I had just walked out into the living room when I heard a thump and then a cry. I ignored it at first because with three kids someone is always getting hurt and crying atleast 100 times a day. So when Statton came up to me and had blood coming out of his mouth my first thought was he bit his lip when he fell. I had him open his mouth and a ton of blood is just gushing out and I can see that his two front teeth are shoved clear back. PANIC! This of course happens when Blair is gone taking a load of junk to the dump. So I did my best to grab his teeth and try to shove them up where they were suppose to be and then got him a wet washcloth and had him bite gently down on it to hold the teeth in place. Now I know I need to see a dentist at this point but it's Saturday and I know that no one will be in office. I call the local dental office and of course get a recording saying they all took vacation for the week and to call a dentist in Worland if it's an emergency. So I call there and unless I'm a patient of record they won't see me. We had only been in Thermopolis about 4 months and I hadn't picked out a dentist yet.  Blair walks in at that point and I frantically tell him what has happened as I'm trying to find some more dental numbers. After the 4th try I was done and told Blair that I know it's stupid and I don't care but I'm going to the E.R. to atleast see what they can do. I was done calling dentists to get the same message. So of course at the E.R. there isn't much they can do for dental problems but they check him out for other facial injuries. Then they finally tracked down one of the local dentists who is just coming back from Casper and was willing to meet me later at his office. YEA! So we went home for a few hours and then went and met Guy Drake and his wife at the dental office. They were so nice! They didn't even charge me to see him! They said to wait and see if the teeth would re-attach themselves but they could still possibly turn grey if the root system was dead. The other option was to just pull them. I opted to wait and see if they would stay put on their own.

This was just a few shots I got of the mouth and teeth damage that Statton did. They looked a lot better once all the blood and stuff was gone. Poor guy really did a number on himself.
These next 3 pictures were the day after. It was Sunday and Statton didn't feel good. Not surprised. So him and I stayed home from church and watched movies and relaxed on the couch. Poor guy ended up throwing up a few times that day and a few during the night. He started running a slight fever. I slept in bed with him Sunday night taking care of him because he was in so much pain and also the puking. It was a rough night for both of us.

By Tuesday afternoon he started acting like his old self and was wanting to play a was starting to get his appetite back. He hadn't eaten anything since Saturday afternoon. I couldn't hardly get him to drink anything. 3 weeks later his front teeth have a little bit of a wiggle to them and they have turned grey. He doesn't care. He thinks his grey teeth are pretty cool.

Ballerina Camp

I signed Cassidy up to do a Ballerina Camp with her dance instructor. They did two days of camp and then Saturday morning, June 22, they were going to be in the parade and hand out fliers. Then that afternoon they were performing during the centennial Celebration.
Joy, her dance teacher, said that Cassidy started out the parade skipping and running around but soon tired and was really lagging behind so they finally put her on the front of the four-wheeler with Jason (Joy's Husband). We were laughing because we were sitting at about the middle of the parade and just saw Cassidy on the four-wheeler. We just thought she was being too lazy to walk. It wasn't until later that Joy told us what happened.

So here they are at the Centennial Celebration showing off some of the things they learned at the Ballerina Camp. Cassidy must have been having a hard day that day because she wouldn't do anything. She just stood there with her hands in her mouth.

So even though the whole things was kind-of a bust. She loved the t-shirt she got though.
