Cassidy's Dance Recital

Well we didn't have much time to stay and play in Idaho once we got back from Hawaii. We had to hurry back to Thermopolis for rehearsal and Dance recital on May 24th.
This was Cassidy and her friend Harley during the opening number.

This was their first dance they did. It was to "Hickory Dickory Dock "

This was in-between numbers I snuck backstage and took some nice pictures of Cassidy in her costume since my camera didn't like all the lighting.

 She is such a poser!
I only got one shot of her at the beginning of her big number because I think I tried to record the rest on my camera. Their big number was a song from Barbie and the Popstar: "To be a princess"
She was so cute during the performance because when the music changes to the popstar singing they are suppose to walk back to their chair and pick up their prop microphone. Well Cassidy was so sweet and walked back and grabbed hers and gave it to another girl and when she turned around to grab another one she couldn't find one and spent a few seconds looking through the chairs for a microphone till she found one.
This was the final number with all the dancers. One of the older girls led the little ones on-stage.

She was so pretty in her costume and loved doing dance with Ms Joy.
Between some of the performances she had a dance-off. If you won the dance-off you could win free tuition for dance next year. Statton ran up there thinking it would be fun to just be silly on stage.

The dance-off was a disco theme so Joy was teaching everyone some basic Disco moves they could throw into their dance-off routines.

The Dance Recital was a lot of fun to watch and Cassidy enjoyed performing and wearing her big fluffy costume. She is so excited to start again this fall.

Waimea Beach

Well after we did the Waimea valley hike and had lunch we headed over to Waimea Beach to get a last few hours of beach and sunshine in before heading home to clean up and catch our flight.

Waimea Beach was a lot different this time than the last time I was here.  The beach sits up higher and then it's kind of a steep slope to the ocean. Last time is was a nice gradual slope into the ocean. Last time we had a great time boogie boarding but this time the ocean was pretty rough and the draw back into the ocean was very strong. You really had to hang on to the kids so they didn't get sucked out.

Just having fun covering up the kids.

So we were trying to convince ourselves that we needed to get going but just couldn't convince ourselves we wanted to leave. As we were hanging out in the ocean all the sudden a huge wave came and crashed clear up into the shore where all the kids were buried in the sand and Sarah was grabbing kids under the arms and pulling them up out of the crashing water. The rest of us were trying to regain our footing after having our feet washed out from underneath us. Needless to say we were all covered from head to toe in sand and water. We figured the ocean was trying to throw us out so we decided it was time to leave.
Hola Hawaii! Thanks for the good time!

Waimea Valley

This was a very bitter-sweet day. It was our last day in Hawaii and we had most of the day to play and then we were catching a flight that night. So we went to the Waimea Valley. Super pretty walk with a beautiful waterfall at the end that you can swim in.

They had a nice paved path all the way up or little side roads and stairs you could take to see more scenery.

Here is the beautiful waterfall at the top that you can swim in. They have life jackets for the kids at no cost and then body boards and noodles that you can rent.

Grandpa taking Cassidy and Statton in. It was pretty cool when you first got in and then you got used to it.

Sarah with Kailyn and Abrie. Super cute girls!
 Everyone out by the waterfall.

This is why I didn't swim out with the kids to the waterfall because Madison didn't want anything to do with it. So we kicked it at the shoreline.

My little trio posing for a shot in front of the waterfall. We all had fun and it was a beautiful hike up to it.
