Fireworks

Blair and I were supposed to have a week off for the 4th of July but about a week before we were planning on leaving Blair was called out on "storm" to Ashland, Mt. They have had a rash of fires in the area that destroyed a lot of power lines and put the town out of power. So we decided to hang out thinking he would be home in a few days like most storm calls. But after a week it wasn't looking good. In the meantime I received news that my Grandma Darrington wasn't doing well and not expected to live through the weekend. Sure enough she passed and the funeral was going to be a few days after the fourth. After a Sunday night midnight phone call with Blair and not good news I made the decision to quit sitting around Torrington bored to death and load up my small brood and drive the 10 hrs home...alone. Turned out great we were able to enjoy the Rupert Fourth of July Parade with the cousins.
Cassidy, Madison, Ellie, and Sophie. Little Kailyn in the back.

Bailey, Tyler, Wrigley, Quinn, Statton, and Kensie.

After the parade everyone came out to my folks for lunch and running in the sprinklers. It was fun having both sides of my family there and enjoy their company.
That night my Aunt Diana and Uncle Dennis and their kids and grandkids came out and we enjoyed fireworks together. Letting the kids run around playing with the sparklers.

Cassidy was happier cuddling up with Aunt Andrea.
Statton of course is in the middle of things running around with the sparklers.

It was so fun being home and spending the 4th with my family. I felt bad that Blair wasn't able to be here enjoying the fireworks that he had bought to light off. They were the good ones too. I used the video on my phone and sent him a few clips of his amazing fireworks.

Big Kid Bikes

While in Torrington at the end of May.The twins had been asking for bikes for awhile and we'd been putting it off but finally we told them that in two weeks we would go to Scottsbluff, Ne to buy them bikes. Finally after two weeks of being asked EVERYDAY if today was the day to get their bikes it finally came. We drove the 30 miles to Scottsbluff (nearest large town) and searched Walmart and Target for bikes. We finally decided on some at Target and brought them home for Blair to put together.
Side note: During the unwrapping of Statton's bike Blair was using his box-cutter style knife to get the padded wrapping off the bike when he accidenitly stabbed himself in the side of his left leg by the knee. Once we got the bleeding stopped Blair was able to continue with the putting together. I had to laugh when Blair was putting the tires on when Statton makes the remark "Careful Dad don't hurt yourself."

I can't tell you how excited Statton was to finally have a big boy bike. He loved it and rode it a ton!

Cute little Cassidy trying to assist in the building of her bike.

Of course she had to have a cute pink basket to put on the front. You know to hold all her barbies!

The kids tested out their bikes by riding up and down the road in front of our fifth-wheel. They both really enjoyed riding their bikes.
Just a sweet pic of Madison riding the tricycle she received for her birthday a month ago. She loves riding hers and trying to keep up with the other two.

Go Muckdogs!

We moved to Torrington, Wy around the end of April but I didn't head out until the middle of May because Statton had to have his ear tubes re-done in Twin Falls. When I did get there I was glad to find out that T-ball hadn't really started yet so luckily I was able to get the kids signed up for T-ball for the month of June. They missed the practices they did in May so they just got to play the games. They were drafted to the team called the Muckdogs. There were two games a week for about 4 1/2 weeks. Here is some shots of them before their first game.

This was before one of their games and they were practicing throwing and catching the ball. It was so cute to see them. Statton loved playing. Cassidy enjoyed it sometimes but would frequently cry between innings and kept asking if they were almost done.

Statton was so excited to finally play catcher. All the kids wanted a turn so the coaches really tried hard to make it fair for everyone. Something about putting on all the padding. Statton was too short for the shin guards. I think they ended above his waist so they left them off.
I tell you what watching a bunch of 4-6 yr olds play T-ball is pretty hilarious. It's hard to keep them focused on the batter. Most of the time they're looking at their shoes or turned around or staring into space.

I loved this picture because the boy on first that day must have been a talker because him and Statton were having some sort of conversation and apparantly dirt was the topic. Statton is showing this little boy the dirt he scooped up.

The helmets they use to bat and run the bases with were so big on the kids. As you can see Cassidy is holding hers so she can see. She would run the bases holding it up.
These are some cute pics I got while the kids were waiting for their turn to bat. Pretty cute. They wore their hats backwards so the helmets would fit better.

T-ball was quite the experience and we really enjoyed it. Plus I loved having an activity to attend in the evenings. Like I said before the whole T-ball thing was right up Statton's ally. He loved throwing the ball and batting. No matter where he was outfield whenever the ball was hit he was running after it. Cassidy could have cared less and probably would have loved to quit but we kept encouraging her to do it. She was happy to stand in the outfield and chew on her mitt. Funny kids!
