Night Crab Hunting and Bellows day 2

So at nightime at Bellows you take your flashlights and a bucket and you can go down to the beach to go crab hunting. You look for little holes in the sand where the little crabs have burrowed out of and if your lucky you can see one sitting by it. Then you have to hurry and scoop them up before they go back into their holes. After catching a few we took them back to the cabins. Outside of course. Then we put them into some big bowls so all the kids could look at them and hold them. If they were brave enough!
The funny story was that that Kailyn was packing the bucket full of crabs and right when she was stepping up onto the concrete patio she tripped and spilt the crabs everywhere so we were all scrambling like crazy to get them back into the bucket before they were lost. We got most of them but some escaped.
Another funny story. Statton didn't like the crabs. He didn't like them scurrying back into their holes as fast as they did it creeped him out I guess. So everytime he would see a crab hole he would push sand into it with  his foot. So he made it his job to cover all the holes back up.
Some were super tiny like the size of a pencil eraser head and others were the size of a quarter or half dollar. Cassidy and Madison were brave enough to hold the tiny crabs but they didn't want the bigger ones. They were even brave enough to catch them on the beach.

After we were done holding the crabs we sent them back to the beach with Grandpa and Grandma who released them.

Here we are the next day heading to the beach again. Cassidy wanted to wear my hat I bought at the swap meet.
Cassidy and I going boogie boarding.

Grandpa Darrington helping to bury the kids in the sand. They loved it!

We actually spent most of today up on the beach instead of down by the water. Because it's the windward side of the island more things get washed up on the beach like Jellyfish parts. So we were picking up Jellyfish  pieces all day. Not with our bare hands of course but with a shovel and bucket. I was nervous all day that someone was going to step on one and get stung or have it brush up against them while they were getting into the water. So day 2 at Bellows wasn't as relaxing and fun as I hoped. Good thing the kids enjoyed hanging out up on the sand.

I had to get atleast one beach picture with me and all the kids!
We are loving Hawaii! Wish our Daddy was here!

Bellows Day 1

We reserved us some cabins at Bellow's beach. It is a private navy beach that they have cabins that military people can rent. I guess it's on the windward side of the island.
Just playing in the surf. Grandma Darrington taking Statton out to boogie board.

Here's my niece Kailyn playing in the sand.

The kids just had a blast playing in the water and sand.

My niece Abrie playing in the sand.

Here I am helping Cassidy catch waves on the boogie board.

My sister Sarah helping her kids in the water.

What a fun beach. It was also nice cause our cabin wasn't far so it was a short walk back. They also had hoses outside to spray off from the beach and hose down our stuff and then they had clothes lines to hang it all on. Much better than going to the beach and then having to load up in your car to go home and clean up inside your house.

My Mom and I playing on the boogie boards.
My Mom, Dad, and I all out playing in the water. It was beautiful!

This was after we went back to the cabin and showered all the kids and now they're out playing in their jammies.

This was day 1 of Bellows Beach.
