Happy 4th Birthday Madison!

Happy 4th Birthday Madison!
Madison's birthday this year fell on Sunday which also means it was Mother's day as well. We had invited some friends over Monday night for a barbeque to celebrate her Birthday so for her actual birthday we just celebrated with our family. We made cupcakes and sang her Happy Birthday. She opened a few presents.

Grandma and Grandpa Darrington sent her the horse and she loves it. I had taken her to the store on Friday and let her pick out some things that she wanted. She picked out the littlest petshop thing and an outfit for Summer.

All my kids together. They are all so sweet and cute and growing up so fast.
This is Monday night after the barbeque having cake and ice cream with our friends.

We have some of the most amazing friends here in Thermopolis that come and celebrate these occasions with us. They all brought Madison great presents.

We were trying to get a picture with all the kids but as usual it's hard to get that many kids to cooperate. L-R  Orion, Madison, Kacey, Lettie, Bethany holding Makenna, Statton, Cassidy, Apollo.

Cassidy's Dance Recital

There are a few things that disappoint me about the town we live in and not having a dance studio for Cassidy to participate in is one of them. We did however find a gal who was trying a creative movement dance class for the Spring. I thought we would give it a try. Cassidy didn't love it and I had to really talk her into finishing the last month of classes. Either way she did a small dance recital on May 9th with the class she taught so these are just pictures from the recital.

Cassidy really enjoys dancing if she is learning a dance and performing so she of course enjoyed learning a dance to show off.

Soccer

Both Statton and Cassidy had the opportunity to be in the local Recreation District Soccer leagues. They both enjoyed playing this Spring. Statton loved playing goalie more than anything. I didn't get any pictures of the actual games. These pictures are from their last game of the season with all their teammates.

No training wheels!

Statton was able to go with his dad to the Father/Son campout and when they got back he was ready to take off his training wheels. I was told he had been riding one of the other kids strider bikes and was able to balance and ride it fine so Dad said the training wheels were coming off. Statton took one off by himself and needed help with the other. I helped him with it and after that he was good to go.
We took him to the park the next day so he had a bunch of sidewalk to ride on. So fun to watch them grow.

Easter

Well we had a fun Easter week. Now I know a lot of the Easter pictures are of Madison but she's the one who is home all day and the other two are in School doing their own stuff.

Here we are at mom and tots at the Easter egg hunt.

Here we are at the library for the Easter egg hunt.

All the kids on Sunday with their cute Easter outfits on.

More ear tubes and tonsilectomy

For Spring Break we decided to go home to Idaho and visit family and also take Statton in to the doctor for a checkup on his ear tubes. Well his appointment didn't go as well as I hoped. Both ears were filling up with fluid and pressure again. He also was experiencing some hearing problems as well due to the fluid build up. So the doctor was nice enough to schedule us in that same week for another set of ear tubes and we also decided to have his tonsils out as well since they were also very enlarged.
So here Statton is on April 10th waiting to go back for surgery. They brought in his mask and let him decorate it with stickers.
This was him right after getting back to the room from recovery. They had to put the pads on the side of his bed because he was rolling around in the bed so much from being in pain. They said he was being an alligator.

Poor kid just wanted to sleep and be left alone. The tube in front of his face is blowing a cool mist to help ease the hurt in his throat.

Here he is with his arm bandaged from his I.V. and ready for his ride out of the hospital. They asked him if he wanted to walk out or ride in the wagon. He chose a wagon ride.
Statton went home and slept the rest of the day. He threw up twice that day. Friday morning he was still feeling pretty bad and the girls and I had  hair appointments that morning so I took a blanket and pillow and he laid in the salon on the floor and watched movies. About an hour into the appointment he was perking up and smiling at me. He did pretty well the rest of the day but was starting to feel poor again that night. By Saturday morning he was running around and doing a lot better. I'm really hoping this is the last set of tubes we need to do. The doctor says if after this set he is still having problems we might need to look into permanent tubes. I hope we don't have to do this.
