Madison turned 5 years old on May 11, 2015. She asked me weeks ago if she could have a hot dog roast at Grandma Pam's horse barn. So that is exactly what we did. Thankfully my mom kept her horses out of the barn for a few days and had my dad power wash out the stalls and barn so it didn't smell so strong of horses. It was a fun party and just what she wanted.
Note the cute cowboy boots she is wearing with her skirt. She is holding up her fingers to show me how old she is. She was pretty excited to be turning 5.
It was a little bit of a windy and cold day but we braved it anyway and roasted our hot dogs.
This was Madison's cake creation. She wanted heart-shaped cakes on top of each other. She changed her mind about a dozen times on how she wanted it decorated. She originally wanted pink frosting with orange stripes. Well that morning she wanted banana frosting that was pink and white and some other colors. We finally settled on this. Pink and yellow banana frosting with orange stars of frosting for the borders. Not the cutest thing ever but it's what the little lady wanted.
The opening of the gifts!
She received a ton of cute things. Mostly Sophia the first stuff seemed to be a theme.
Grandma Pam had a horse piñata still leftover from her barn-opening party years ago so we filled that with candy and let the kids have at it.
Well after they busted open the piñata they gathered up all the candy and Madison insisted on keeping the horse head which was still intact. She has put it over the head of her big horse that she got last year as a birthday gift. She says it's his costume. Happy Birthday Madison! We love you!
