Pear Harbor and Hickam

Friday we went to visit Pearl Harbor that morning. I enjoyed going and the kids asked a ton of questions. Mostly why were they fighting? While waiting to board the boat to take us over to the Arizona Memorial I took Cassidy and Statton into some of the museums they have to look at the pictures and videos. Well they sat down and started watching one of the videos and were so into it that I could hardly pull them away to go catch our boat.

Hanging out before the boat takes off. Grandpa, Cassidy, Kailyn, Statton, and Madison on Grandma's lap.

Looking over the rail at part of the sunken boat.

Just some photos of all of us inside the memorial. Again the kids were asking all sorts of questions about why the boat was sunk and why were they fighting. They loved the story about how oil still leaks out of the boat. They got even more excited when they could actually see the oil and how it makes rainbows on the water. I was just glad they got to experience this piece of history and hope they might remember a little bit of their visit. I get a little choked up every time we visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial.
After Pear Harbor we went and visited Hickam Beach and enjoyed the rest of our afternoon swimming.

Even Madison enjoyed playing in the water this time. All my kids enjoyed the Beaches and said that they were their favorite part of the trip.
